Recycling - Depots
General Information
Four recycling depots are available for disposal of extra materials, or for
residents who are not on the curbside recycling collection program (such as apartments
and homes on First Nation Lands). Recycling Depot Locations

What can be recycled at the Recycling Depots?

Coloured plastic containers, all plastic flower pots and trays, sheet plastic
and plastic bags are accepted at depots for recycling. You may also recycle
all your glass containers at the recycling and bottle depots. Plate glass
is being accepted at a cost of $50 per tonne by Metro Waste Paper Recovery, 144 Cambro Road off Sexsmith.

- Transfer Stations
Traders Cove and North Westside Road residents may take their sorted recyclables
and household garbage to the their transfer stations.

- The Traders Cove station
is located off Westside Road and is open during the Winter months, Wednesday from
6:30 am to 10:30 am and Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Summer hours are each
Wednesday from 6:30 am to 10:30 am and Sunday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- The North Westside station is located at Sugar Mountain on the Whiteman Creek Forest
Service Road.
From July 24th to
the end of September
2010, an additional four
hours have been added to
the hours of operation.
It is open Monday and
Wednesday from 8:00 am
to 12noon and Saturday
and Sunday from 8:00 am
to 2:00 pm.

- all plastic containers with #1 - 7 recycling symbol (simply remove lids, rinse and
flatten)

stretchy plastic film
including grocery bags

Writing Paper
- all white, neon, coloured paper and envelopes
- all computer paper, labels and envelopes with windows
- no carbon paper, used tissue, or paper towels
- all papers and corrugated cardboard are not accepted as garbage. Please recycle

You can also return beverage containers to most retailers. Retailers often limit
the number of containers accepted for refund.

Computer and Electronics Recycling
On August 1st, 2007 the BC Government and Encorp launched a province-wide Return-It
Electronics Program for the safe and responsible recycling of computers, printers,
monitors, fax machines and tv's. In the Central Okanagan there are two locations:
