Regional Sewer System

The Regional Sewer System is servicing areas on the west side of Okanagan Lake including:

  • City of West Kelowna
  • District Municipality of Peachland
  • Tsinstikeptum Indian Reserves 9 and 10

Trunk mains have been extended into all the areas listed above except Peachland where a force main was required to provide sewer service. The trunk and force mains bring sewer closer to the individual neighborhood. Collection systems branch out from these trunk and force mains to extend the sewers further into these areas. Once this is completed, sewer service is available to the individual properties.

Prior to the incorporation of the City of West Kelowna in late 2007, the Regional District focussed on expanding the sewer system in the Glenrosa and Lakeview Heights areas. It was anticipated that this work would take approximately 7 to 10 years.  With incorporation the municipality assumed control of planning and direction of this sewer servicing program.  Contact the City of West Kelowna for more information 778-797-1000

The following bylaws and fact sheets are available for downloading. The bylaw links are provided in an electronic format for convenience only and should not be considered legal documents.  As they are subject to amendments, please consult with Engineering Services to ensure the most up-to-date information.  The documents should provide you with a better understanding of the Westside Regional Sewer System and how sewer service is provided to the individual municipal neighbourhoods.
